Struggling to finish your book is not always a sign of disobedience, sometimes it is warfare. God told you to write and you obeyed. You started writing but then you got tired, and stuck. That may have been months or even years ago and you have started to wonder if any of it matters. When God gives you something to write, it carries truth and healing to people you may never meet. That is one reason it is so hard to finish.
You probably noticed that the closer you get to finishing, the harder it gets. Your schedule gets busy, people need things from you, money gets tight, your mind gets noisy and every little thing in your life starts demanding your attention. Sometimes you end up blaming yourself, thinking that you are just lazy or disorganized. But sometimes it is the enemy launching an attack.
The enemy is not worried about a book idea that stays in your head. He is not bothered by rough notes sitting in a folder. But the moment you start bringing that message toward the finish line, he pays attention. Why? Because a finished book is a weapon against darkness. It exposes lies, it brings people out of hiding, and it pushes back the enemy's territory. He fights you at the end because he is trying to block what God is about to release through you.
When you feel that heavy resistance and you keep writing anyway, you are fighting back. You are telling the enemy that his roadblocks are not going to win. It is not about having perfect motivation or feeling inspired. Most days, you won't feel inspired at all. You just show up because you know obedience is stronger than the noise in your head.
Every sentence you push through when you want to quit is an act of spiritual warfare. You are refusing to let fear shut down what God put in your hands.
We often think this is just about our own personal goal, getting a book done so we can feel accomplished. But it is much bigger than that. There are people walking around right now who are stuck in the exact pain God brought you through. They need the truth you are holding.
When the enemy tries to stop your message with doubt and exhaustion, he is not just trying to stop you. He is trying to keep those people bound. When you finally finish your manuscript, you break that block. You give God what He needs to reach someone who is waiting on the other side of your obedience.
You do not need everything to be perfect to finish. You need to keep going. The fight around this book does not mean it is time to back away. It means it is time to work harder.
If you are ready to stop circling the book and actually work on it, come join me in The Labor Room. It is a 12-week program for people who are ready to complete their manuscript. If you want help, structure, and a real push to get this done, this is your next step.
