Girl, can we talk? As we're winding down 2025, I know you're probably feeling all the feels. Maybe you're looking back thinking, "Where did this year go?" or "Did I really steward what God gave me well?"
Listen, sis, you're not alone in this reflection. The end of the year has a way of making us evaluate everything – our finances, relationships, time, and how we've used our gifts. But here's what I've noticed: many of us Kingdom women fall into the same stewardship traps as December rolls around.
Today, we're going to get real about five common mistakes we make with what God has entrusted to us, and more importantly, how to course-correct with grace and wisdom. Because honey, it's not too late to finish this year strong and step into 2025 as the faithful steward God called you to be.
Let me guess – as the year ends, you're looking at your bank account, your goals, your relationships, and thinking, "There's just not enough." Not enough money saved, not enough progress made, not enough time left. Sound familiar?
The Biblical Truth: "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:19
Sis, when we operate from scarcity, we're essentially saying God's provision isn't sufficient. We start hoarding instead of giving, worrying instead of trusting, and making fear-based decisions about our resources.
The Grace-Filled Solution: Shift your perspective from what's lacking to what God has already provided. This doesn't mean being irresponsible with money or ignoring real needs – it means making decisions from a place of trust rather than panic.
Action Steps:
List 10 ways God provided for you this year (big and small)
Practice the 24-hour rule before making major financial decisions
Ask yourself: "Am I making this choice from fear or faith?"
Here's something we don't talk about enough – how we often treat relationships like a luxury instead of a stewardship responsibility. As the year gets busy with holidays and deadlines, we start isolating or only investing in relationships that serve our immediate needs.
The Biblical Truth: "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." - Proverbs 27:17
God didn't design you to do life alone, girl. The relationships He's placed in your life – your sisters in Christ, mentors, those you're mentoring – these are sacred stewardship opportunities.
The Grace-Filled Solution: Intentionally invest in relationships that sharpen you and relationships where you can be the iron that sharpens others. This isn't about networking; it's about genuine Kingdom community.
Action Steps:
Reach out to three people this week just to encourage them
Identify one relationship you've neglected and take a step to restore it
Schedule coffee or a call with someone who speaks wisdom into your life

Oh honey, this one hits deep. How many of us end the year thinking, "I should have been braver with my gifts"? Whether it's your voice, your business ideas, your creative talents, or your leadership abilities – you've been playing small when God called you to play BIG.
The Biblical Truth: "Each of you should use whatever gift you have to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." - 1 Peter 4:10
Your gifts aren't just for you – they're for the Kingdom. When you hide them or use them halfheartedly, you're not being a faithful steward of what God invested in you.
The Grace-Filled Solution: Stop waiting for permission to step into the fullness of who God created you to be. Your gifts are needed NOW, not when you feel "ready enough."
Action Steps:
Write down your top 3 gifts and how you used them this year
Identify one way you can use your gifts more boldly in 2026
Find an accountability partner who will encourage you to step out of your comfort zone
Reflection Prompt: What would I do with my gifts if I knew I couldn't fail?
Let's be honest – you probably ended up saying yes to things that drained you and no to things that could have filled you up. Time and energy are precious resources, and how we steward them reflects our priorities and values.
The Biblical Truth: "Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil." - Ephesians 5:15-16
Every "yes" to something is a "no" to something else. When we don't steward our time and energy intentionally, we often end up exhausted and feeling like we're not making the Kingdom impact God called us to make.
The Grace-Filled Solution: Get clear on your divine assignments and protect your time and energy for what truly matters. This means learning to say no without guilt and yes with intention.
Action Steps:
Do a time audit: Where did your time go this year?
Identify your top 3 non-negotiable priorities for 2025
Practice saying "Let me pray about it" before committing to new obligations

Girl, slow down! You are probably already making 2026 vision boards and setting goals, but have you taken time to really sit with God about this year? Spiritual stewardship means regularly examining our hearts, confessing where we've fallen short, and celebrating how God has been faithful.
The Biblical Truth: "Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." - Psalm 139:23-24
Without proper spiritual inventory, we repeat the same patterns and miss the lessons God wants to teach us through both our victories and our struggles.
The Grace-Filled Solution: Create sacred space for reflection, repentance, and renewal. Let God show you what needs to be left in 2025 and what He wants to develop in 2026.
Action Steps:
Schedule a personal retreat day (even just 3 hours) for reflection and prayer
Journal about your spiritual growth this year
Ask God to reveal any areas where you need His forgiveness or healing
Take some time to prayerfully consider these questions:
Where did I see God's faithfulness most clearly this year?
Which of my resources (time, talents, finances, relationships) did I steward well?
What opportunities did I miss because of fear or distraction?
How can I be a more faithful steward in 2026?
What is God asking me to release, and what is He asking me to embrace?
"Heavenly Father, thank You for entrusting me with so much – my gifts, my resources, my relationships, and my very life. As this year comes to a close, I confess the areas where I haven't stewarded well what You've given me. I've operated from fear instead of faith, hidden my gifts instead of using them boldly, and sometimes prioritized the urgent over the eternal.
Lord, please forgive me where I've fallen short and help me finish this year strong. Give me wisdom to make decisions that honor You, courage to step boldly into my calling, and grace to extend to myself and others as we grow.
As I step into 2026, help me to be the faithful steward You've called me to be – not perfect, but purposeful. Not having it all together, but trusting in Your provision and plan. Use me, Lord, for Your Kingdom purposes.
In Jesus' name, Amen."
Remember, sis, stewardship isn't about perfection – it's about faithfulness. God doesn't expect you to have it all figured out, but He does call you to be intentional with what He's placed in your hands.
As we close out 2025, let's commit to being women who steward our resources, relationships, and gifts with Kingdom purpose. You've got this, and more importantly, you've got God walking with you every step of the way.
